Strawberry Week Serves the Underserved By Lee Merrill
This February, we are collecting feminine hygiene products (tampons, pads and liners) for Strawberry Week Society, a local nonprofit serving Missouri and Kansas. Strawberry Week improves access to menstrual products in underserved communities and to the public through alliances with such local organizations as Jewish Family Services and Bishop Sullivan Center and by direct-distribution efforts at libraries, schools and clinics.
We at Kol Ami can help by bringing donations of tampons, pads and liners to our in-person Shabbat services February 7 and 14. For more information, visit Strawberry Week Society’s website by clicking here. If you have any questions about donations, contact Lee Merrill at lacmerrill@gmail.com.

Rabbi's Week in Review
In a week of chaos nationally and internationally, I have had congregants (and others outside of Congregation Kol Ami) reach out to me, fearful of what the future holds. There are two groups of people prominent amongst those who hold this place of fear. One is our queer/LGBTQ+ congregants, particularly trans congregants. The other group is the immigrant community with whom we are connected in our work with the Migrant Farmworkers Assistance ... Click here to read the rest of Rabbi Doug's blog post.
This Week's Torah Portion Parashat Bo (Shemot/Exodus 10:1-13:16)
We read this week about the origins of our Pesach rituals. Much of Passover’s great popularity can be attributed to the many rituals that have formed and enhanced our Pesach seders. We have continued adding to those rituals as our Jewish story continues to evolve.
